Flag Redesign Project

I was inspired to create this project after watching Roman Mars' TED Talk, 'The Worst-Designed Thing You've Never Noticed'. The premise of this talk is centered on the study of flag design, known as vexillology. Since watching this video, I've been working to redesign most of the state flags of the United States.

The goal humbly began as a side-project I did during lunch and after work. However, as the project progressed I began learning about each states individual histories and symbols in order to more accurately reflect those motifs in my redesign. Below are some of the designs that I've completed, with a before and after my redesign.
